Terms of Service

BrailleLearn is currently run as an independent personal project, not a registered company. "We", "us" and "BrailleLearn" below refer to the individual operating braillelearn.co.uk. Questions? Email hello.braillelearn@gmail.com.

By using braillelearn.co.uk, you agree to these terms. Please read them before using the site or purchasing Full Access. If you don't agree with any part, please don't use the site.

The service

BrailleLearn is an educational website offering Braille lessons, quizzes, a translator, a dot tapper, games and progress tracking. A free tier is available to everyone with no account required. Full Access is available for a one-off yearly payment of £14.99 and unlocks all lessons, quizzes, games, unlimited translator use, and progress tracking.

Payments

Full Access payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not collect or store your card details. By purchasing Full Access, you authorise a charge of £14.99, billed yearly, to your chosen payment method.

Because Full Access unlocks digital content immediately upon payment, and by completing your purchase you're asking for immediate access, standard UK distance-selling cancellation rights for digital content may not apply once access has been unlocked. If you experience a payment issue or believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello.braillelearn@gmail.com and we'll review it fairly on a case-by-case basis.

Accounts and progress data

BrailleLearn does not currently require an account. Your lesson progress is stored on your own device using browser local storage. We are not responsible for progress lost due to clearing browser data, switching devices, or browser/device issues, since we hold no copy of this information.

Acceptable use

Please use BrailleLearn for its intended purpose — learning and teaching Braille. Don't attempt to disrupt the service, bypass payment or access controls, submit false or abusive content through the ratings/reviews feature, or use the site in any way that could harm other users.

Intellectual property

The BrailleLearn name, design, lesson content and code are owned by the operator of BrailleLearn unless otherwise stated. You're welcome to use the site for personal or classroom learning, but please don't copy, resell or redistribute the content without permission.

No warranty

BrailleLearn is provided "as is." While we aim to keep it accurate and reliable, we can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or fit for every purpose. BrailleLearn is an educational supplement and should not replace guidance from a qualified Braille instructor, teacher of the visually impaired, or other relevant professional.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrailleLearn and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the site, including loss of progress data or inability to access the service.

Children using BrailleLearn

BrailleLearn is designed to be used by children, ideally with the involvement of a parent, carer or teacher, particularly when it comes to purchases. If you are a parent or carer, you are responsible for any purchase made on a device your child uses.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the service develops — for example, when accounts are introduced. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Continuing to use BrailleLearn after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
